Roma… Caput Mundi… There is no city in the world which can gift the visitor with such an incredible amount of stunning monuments and art masterpieces… The layers of the past are revealed to the visitor step by step… Rome is the spirit of the history translated in solid marble and bricks, and in the wonderful colors of the brush strokes of the paintings in the thousand churches… All the world comes to visit Rome… and Rome is the world…

Roma… Caput Mundi… Non c’è città al mondo che può regalare al visitatore una tale incredibile quantità di stupefacenti monumenti e capolavori d’arte… Gli strati del passato si rivelano al visitatore passo dopo passo… Roma è lo spirito della storia traslato in marmo solido e mattoni,  e nei meravigliosi colori delle pennellate dei dipinti nelle mille chiese… Tutto il mondo viene per visitare Roma… e Roma è il mondo…

Some years ago, a walk on Via dei Fori Imperiali, and a visit to the Roman Foro, the heart of the ancient city.  There the people was doing business and politics, was shopping and chatting … and also playing noughts and crosses on the steps of the law court, as the remained engravings tell us…

Alcuni anni fa, una passeggiata in Via dei Fori Imperiali, ed una visita al Foro Romano, il cuore della città antica. Li le persone facevano affari e politica, si dedicavano alla spesa e chiacchieravano… e giocavano anche a tris sulle scale del tribunale, come ci dicono le incisioni rimaste…

 

Suddenly… Here it is, even if upside-down it appears the equestrian statue on top of the Altare della Patria, the monument to the Unknown Soldier…

All’improvviso… eccola, anche se sottosopra appare la statua equestre in cima all’ Altare della Patria, il monumento al Milite Ignoto…

The statue is calling to visit the splendid terrace on the top of the Altare della Patria… and there is no reason to renounce…

La statua chiama alla visita della splendida terrazza sulla cima dell’Altare della Patria… e non c’è ragione di rinunciare…

 

Darkness falls … Rome greets the past day and charms the visitor with shadows and lights… leaves in his eyes an unforgettable sense of eternity …

Cala la sera… Roma saluta il giorno passato e affascina il visitatore con luci ed ombre… lascia nei suoi occhi un indimenticabile senso di eternità…
